Olympic Hero Mike Eruzione to Visit Toledo Dec. 12
The Toledo Walleye's are honored to have Olympic Hero and former Toledo Goaldigger, Mike Eruzione drop the ceremonial first puck of the game and brand the new Luca County Arena. The appearance comes nearly 30 years after Eruzione helped Team USA win the gold medal at the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, NY.
Mike will honor Toledo by signing autographs during the game (go to toledowalleye.com for further details on specific times of autographs).
What Mike Eruzione has to say: “I’m excited to come and see the new rink and also to come back and see old friends and players still living in the area. Toledo has always been a great hockey town and the Goaldiggers fans were great.”
Toledo Walleye President/General Manager Joe Napoli said, “Mike’s visit will inspire many great memories for our fans of a time in our history when the U.S. and Russian relations were most tense and the Olympic Games were very meaningful…the underdog collegiate Americans proved that we hadn’t lost the American “can do” attitude” at a time when our Country had its’ doubts. I look forward to sharing the story with my children.”
