Local Realtor and her children take missionary trip to El Salvador

by Victoria Luhring Realty Blog

This article about Victoria was recently featured in Abec's Small Business Review:

Local Danberry Realtor Victoria Luhring, and her children Garrett, 17, and Jordyn, 15, joined a group of Victoria Luhring13 missionaries as they traveled to El Salvador to assist the people of San Salvador from June 22-29, 2013. The purpose of the mission trip was to minister to the children and adults in the community of Guayabo, San Salvador through education, physical service and companionship.

Victoria is an active member of Cedar Creek Church, who sponsored the mission trip. Cedar Creek, working in conjunction with the San Salvador Great Commission Church, has committed to helping the small, impoverished community of Guayabo. When the San Salvador Great Commission Church learned of the village of Guayabo, the community had no potable water supply, and the people lived in very poor conditions without proper daily living supplies and food. Additionally, Guayabo had only a one-room schoolhouse with no electricity or water that was staffed by one teacher to serve the then 55 children of the community. Since 2008, the missionary efforts of Cedar Creek and the San Salvador Great Commission Church have brought phenomenal change to Guayabo by providing much needed food and supplies to the community, as well as the construction of a Community Help and Development Center in 2010.

During their time in San Salvador, Victoria and the missionaries delivered supplies they had collected victoria luhring realtorprior to the trip. They also worked at the Community Help and Development Center, where daily activities included preparing and conducting Bible lessons and craft activities for the area’s children. The missionaries went on home visits to meet the families of Guayabo as well, offering encouraging words and spreading the word of the gospel through personal testimony and prayer. Finally, the missionaries contributed physically by assisting in the construction of a new Community Help and Development Center.

Before the trip, the missionaries raised funds to assist with the cost of their trips. Victoria personally raised $4,100 toward her and her children’s trip expenses from generous friends and business associates. After seeing the profound impact the missionary efforts have had on the community of Guayabo, Victoria has matched the $4,100 in contributions she collected, donating the funds to Cedar Creek to go towards the completion of the new Community Center project, which is still in need of another $17,290 for completing and equipping the new Center. Anyone interested in contributing to the completion of the Community Center project may do so at

victoria luhring toledo real estateVictoria welcomed the opportunity to join with her children and give of themselves to help others. Not only did the trip give Victoria the opportunity to spend cherished quality time with her children, it also gave Victoria, Garrett, and Jordyn an outlet to share their love for Christ and humanity by helping others less fortunate than themselves. When asked to reflect on the trip, Victoria says, “This was the best experience of my lifetime. I feel [the kids] and I grew more spiritually than [we] could have ever imagined. There is not one thing about our trip that I would change.”

Victoria Luhring works with her Executive Home Team at Danberry Realtors to serve those looking for luxury, high end homes in Toledo, Maumee, Perrysburg, Sylvania, and surrounding areas.
